RonnieAdventure #0474 - Area 15, Las Vegas, Nevada

The latest must-see tourist attraction in Las Vegas is "Area 15," which is primarily geared toward the young-adult crowd. However, there were also a few thing to do for the not-so-young.

No fees were charged to tour the outdoor exhibits or walk around the inside of the large building, but inside of the building fees were charged for each individual attraction, gift shop items, and for food/beverages.

There was a large metal robot outside that had apparently fallen down and broken his leg. He was wearing a name tag, but I did not speak his language or know how to pronounce his name.

Before entering the building we passed through "Perception, Infinity Ship No. 1"

Once inside the main building, directly in front of the entrance there was a large skull that kept changing colors and designs.

Directly behind the skull was the Wild Muse Gift Shop, a Tree of life, and a restaurant under a canopy.

There were manikins standing at the restaurant entrances to greet people.

Located around the inside perimeter of the building were various attractions, restaurants, nightclubs, and gift shops.

Activities included golf (and other sporting activities), an arcade, and a number of virtual events, some of which I did not even understand.

For art lovers, there was interesting artwork on the walls throughout the building.

The main attraction that everyone was standing in line for was Omega Mart and Meow Wolf. Believe me, this is a strange place to shop. People kept going into the Mart and then they disappeared!

There were no lines for "Van Gogh, The Immersive Experience," so this was my choice for an activity. A 360-degree presentation of Van Gogh's works were projected on the surrounding theater walls while Classical Music set the mood.

For an additional fee we were given a virtual tour of Arles (southern France), where Van Gogh made over 300 paintings. During both activities some of the paintings came to life, objects started moving, water ran out of the pictures, and it even started raining. During the presentation many Van Gogh quotes were overlaid on the pictures.

This is a traveling exhibit and was originally scheduled to leave Las Vegas on July 7, but the date has now been extended until September. I am not sure where it is going next, but I would recommend seeing it when it comes to a city near you. There is also a different Van Gogh experience that will start at the Las Vegas City Center in September.

When leaving the property we realized that we must have had a virtual experience because a sign said "This Experience Does Not Exist." Sounds just like Area 51 outside of Las Vegas.
