Bellagio Conservatory's 2021 Summer Arrangement is entitled "Eco: A Season of Earthly Awareness." The four floral beds represent Earth, Air, Water, and Fire. (All COVIS-19 restrictions have been removed from the Bellagio, so visitors can now enter the Conservatory from all location and walk through the displays in any direction. The only bad thing about taking pictures of the Summer display is that we had to get up at 5 AM, so that we did not have a lot of tourist in our pictures.)
We entered the Conservatory through the center-front entrance along a pathway that led under a series of arches and a treehouse. This display represents the element of "Air."
Display Sign. "Covered in coco mat, husks, rope and raffia, four luxurious 17-foot tall arches have everlasting botanicals and tillandsia tucked in for a surprise along the walkway."
Display Sign. "An impressive open-air, 30- foot tall, treehouse invites guests to walk under the breezy Hygge (hyoog) inspired coziness. Gaze up through the 39 hanging rattan lanterns and imagine yourself on one of the tiers, nestled in, with your favorite beverage."
On the west side of the Conservatory is 22-foot tall artistic interpretation of Gaia, the Greek Goddess that was considered to be the mother of all life on Earth. Gaia is draped in vines and her head is crowned with flowers. On the back side of the display there is a 10-foot tall Scarlet Ibis.
Display Sign. "Gaia...wistfully looks down, pondering the sacred relationship and connection that she shares with humanity. This provides us a moment to reflect on how we can better care for the Earth."
Display Sign. The figure of Gaia is sheltered by a ruin wall that is seemingly being reclaimed by the Earth. Majestic waterfalls and mossy, forces-of-live emerge from every crack and crevice."
Display Sign. "Giant Passion-flower blossoms, which are some of the most prized treasures of the rainforest florals, provide a breathtaking botanical backdrop for photos."
The element of fire is represented by a Phoenix rising from its ashes.
Display Sign. "Glimmering in the light, the Phoenix signifies a triumphant rising from the ashes of the smoldering volcano below>"
Display Sign. "Reposing comfortably on a log, our Jaguar looks on as guests make their way around the Conservatory...her coat is man-made."
Along with the element of water there are variety of Koi, Tree Frogs, succulent plants and a turtle with fresh-cut flowers as its shell. The succulent plants symbolize "endurance and tenacity. These plants store water in their thick leaves and stems which give us all a reminder to conserve water."
Display Sign. "The South Bed represents replenishing and cleansing water. Throughout this area, guests discover creatures such as tree frogs... [that] live near the rainforest's rivers. These items... [were created] using cutting edge 3-D technology."
