RonnieAdventure #0380 - Bellagio Fall 2019, Las Vegas,NV

The Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Garden 2019 Fall display is based on Indian culture, which I know nothing about. Therefore, rather than make a mistake and say something incorrect, I will just quote the information provided on placards that are located through the Conservatory. For exhibits that do not have placards, I'll just make up something.

"Overall - Bellagio's Conservatory & Botanical Gardens 2019 autumn display, 'Indian Summer,' begins with the discovery of North America and the weather of early fall. When explorers reached land, they believed they had reached India. In their writing, they told of the incredible new world that they found with its beautiful warm climate and second harvest. They called it 'Indian Summer.' In this display, you will see elements of India's culture, folklore and festivities, all told through floral and botanical art."

"Mandap - A regal structure traditionally used in Indian ceremonies, this Mandap is adorned with marigold garland, strung Jasmine tassels and floral paisleys. The arches leading to the Mandap are ornamented with flames as fire is regarded as a purifying and sustaining life force in Indian culture."

"Golden Dome - At the center of the garden is a paved walkway under a covered pavilion. The pavilion is known as a Mandap which is traditionally used for weddings in India. The Mandap stands 22 feet high and 18 feet in diameter. The fabric at the top of the dome is adorned with fall accents of preserved and timeless roses along with natural material. The tassels are 3 feet in height and 15 inches in width. The stricture is made of steel and artistic Iron."

"Kalire - Chandeliers resembling kalire, umbrella-shaped ornaments worn by brides during Indian wedding ceremonies, provide a peaceful glow above the display. An important accessory for any Indian bride, the Kalire are presented during a sacred ceremony prior to her nuptials and represent happiness, prosperity and love."

"Arrangement Trees - Arrangement trees are fabricated from a steel frame and coated with natural materials. Each floral piece is created using timeless tropical flowers including birds of paradise, anthurium, oncidium orchids, and purple statice."

"Bird of Paradise - The oversized Bird of Paradise is constructed from a metal frame structure and coated with foam/resin and covered in seeds."

"Tigers - Captivating the audience with their elegant stance is a stunning Tiger display. One is sitting on the oversized arch branch with a water curtain below him. The tail of the lounging tiger flips up and down simulating the movement of an actual tiger. This tiger is adorned with 290 lib. of a variety of seeds. Yellow Lentils, Red and black Cargo Rice, Black Caraway seeds and its height is 10 feet and width 21 feet. The Standing Tiger has additional excitement with the animated movement of his head back and forth. The tigers are fabricated with a tube steel frame structure then encased with custom sculptured eps foam. It stands 10 foot high and 14 feet long."

"Elephants - These 14-foot Indian elephants are adorned in the festive colors of Holi, an ancient Hindu celebration known as the 'festival of love.' They are wearing anklets strung with bells and blankets made from 20,000 roses. Elephants are an integral part of this Holi celebration as they symbolize strength, responsibility and wisdom. Worshiped for centuries, these animals bring a fresh new element to the display as they make their debut at Bellagio this fall."

"Waterfall - A tranquil waterfall rests between the elephant display creating a calming sound of water as it cascades down to the pond below. Keeping watch are three Fairy Fountains. These fairies have a metal armature structure and fountain built into their frame. The water acts as a skirt for each fairy."

"Hanuman (Part Human - Part Monkey) - Hanuman is an Indian deity known as the 'Lord of Selfless Devotion' and is the most beloved deity in Indian culture. Known for loyalty, strength and mastery of the senses, these Hanuman figures are wearing cutting-edge sherwani outfits, a traditional long coat. They are gathering the colorful and bountiful harvest in hand-painted Indian bullock carts."

"Chandeliers & Bullock Cart - The hanging elements in this bed are stunning. Fabricated metal armature with elegant fabric and preserved rose, rose petals fro accents. At the base of the chandelier rest festive sphere covered in autumn leaves and berries. On either side of the bed rests a 'Bullock Cart.' A bullock cart is a cart dating back to ancient times that was used for transportation and usually was pulled by an ox."

Aloing the north wall of the Conservatory is a row of live Ficus Nitida Trees (Ficus microcarpa nitida)

The foxes are playing with a magic lamp as they go on a magic carpet ride in a fairyland with talking trees.

There are a number of birds and insects that watch over the gardens as the fall leaves float to the ground.

In addition to the Indian display, the exhibits are adorned with numerous flowers from the Bellagio Botanical Gardens.
