Resorts World Las Vegas is located on the historic site of the Stardust Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The Stardust Resort Hotel and Casino opened July 2, 1958. At the time, the Stardust was the world's largest hotel with 1,065 rooms located in six motel-type structures. Included in the complex was a 16,500 sq. ft. casino. In 1972, it became the first resort on The Strip to open an RV park, which became a very popular amenity.
After several ownership changes, Frank "Lefty" Rosenthal became involved in the property management and added the first casino sportsbook in 1975. He is credited with bring increased sports betting to Las Vegas and Sports Illustrated referred to "Lefty" as the "greatest living expert on sports gambling."
In 1979 the property was sold because "Lefty" was associated with organized crime and was charged with a skimming operation in the casino. The property was purchased by two managers that had worked for "Lefty," but in 1983 the Nevada Gaming Commission discovered that the new owners were also running a skimming operation. The property was then sold to the Boyd family, who owned the property until it was demolished in 2007. A Stardust sign currently hangs in Resorts World Las Vegas.

Resorts World Las Vegas opened on June 24, 2021, at a cost of $4.3 billion, which is the most expensive resort property ever developed in Las Vegas. The resort includes a 117,000 sq. ft. casino and a 59-story tower with 3,506 rooms in three Hilton hotels - Las Vegas Hilton, Conrad Las Vegas, and Crockfords. Within the building is a 5,000-seat theatre that has one of the largest stages on the strip, 70,000 sq. ft. of retail space, and a five-acre pool complex. The Las Vegas Convention Center Loop, an underwound transit system, connects to the property .

We entered the building through a side door, which was on the opposite side of the building from the registration desk. The side entrance has easier access to the food court, theaters, and conference rooms.
Next to the entrance door is an interesting "Periodic Table of Las Vegas," which provides Las Vegas facts in a periodic table format.

Throughout the building are some of the most interesting light fixtures that I have ever encountered in a hotel/casino.

On a wall near the theatre is an unusual picture of Carrie Underwood. It was made using 6,400 Opaque Black & White 12 mm Spot Dice.

Located in the lobby area near a registration desk was an unusual bronze art work titled Hippo Wild Ride. There was also more unique lighting and a bar in the lobby area.

While walking down a hallway toward the casino, we found a Randy's Donuts that had some interesting donut displays.
Just a short distance away were various works of art and a tribute to Liberace, which included his mirrored 1913 Nickelodeon Piano that he used during his Las Vegas Hilton performances.
The casino also had a very unique design.
