RonnieAdventure #0651 - Bellagio Conservatory Christmas 2024

Entrance to the Bellagio Conservatory Christmas 2024 display is along a walkway that passes under Santa's 21-foot-tall sleigh, which is being pulled by two reindeer. Sitting on top of the sleigh is an  elf that is pretending to be Santa.

This year, Bellagio's Christmas exhibit was inspired by the classics holiday poem A Visit from St. Nick, by Clement Clarke Moore. The poem reminds visitors that this is a time of year for giving, traditions, and families.

Stockings filled with gifts are hung by the chimney with care, while the children are nestled in their beds. One playful elf is testing out the rocking horse.

There are more than 40-decorated white fir trees in the exhibit this year. Fir trees are native to Western United States and are a popular choice for Christmas trees because their needles are soft, they are attractive in appearance, and they have a pleasant fragrance. In their natural setting, fir trees can reach heights of 100-feet.

LED screens along the north wall feature ever changing winter scenes, while holiday music is played in the background.

A 42-foot tall white fir Christmas tree located in the West Bed was obtained from the Mt. Shasta area in California. The tree contains more than 10,000 LED lights, 8,700 ornaments, and a Swarovski star at the top.

Running around the base of the large Christmas tree is the Peppermint Express miniature train. A camera is mounted on the front of the train locomotive, so that visitors can watch the train's journey around the tree on a large screen.

This is the first year that a vintage-style carousel has been added to the exhibit. A placard states: "Expertly handcrafted, it features regal horses in festive attire, a distinctive canopy with ornate woodwork and vibrant red, green and gold embellishments."

The white and red poinsettias located throughout the conservatory represent Love, Hope, and Prosperity.

Located throughout the exhibit are large glass Christmas ornaments. A placard states that glass tree ornaments were first created in Germany in the 1840s.

Also located in the West Bed is an 18-foot tall gingerbread house that is decorated with ruby red hearts and snow-like icing.
