RonnieAdventure #0670 - Kevin Stone Sculptor Studio, North Las Vegas, Nevada

Kevin Stone is a globally known metal artist, specializing in creating large-scale, unique, three-dimensional sculptures. He and his wife Michelle are from Canada, but moved their studio to Las Vegas about a year ago in search of warmer weather.

On Kevin's web site it states: "The sculptures I create are intended to command attention, evoke emotions, inspire contemplation and dialogue, make a bold statement, enhance the aesthetic appeal of their surroundings, and serve as a captivation of centerpiece." He enjoys transforming someone's vision into reality.

We were thrilled when we had the opportunity to tour his studio and meet Kevin and Michelle. Kevin had recently completed a large eagle sculpture that was still in the studio and he was currently working on two other large-scale projects.

While we were there, we were able to see a Tree of Life sculpture that a philanthropist commissioned Kevin to build. The internal frame of the tree was complete and branches and leaves were being added. Hummingbirds and butterflies will be added before completion.

When completed, the sculpture will be donated to a medical facility.

We do not know why these pieces were painted black and we failed to ask Kevin while we were in the studio.

There were pictures on the walls of other sculptures Kevin has created. Information was available for some of the sculptures, but not others.
